Great Decisions is our monthly series developed by the Foreign Policy Association. A short film is followed by a general discussion of the designated issue. Kathleen Gerard will act as facilitator for this topic.

In December 2014, the United States government announced that it was in the process of normalizing relations with Cuba. Our decades-long policy derives from the Cuban Missile crisis era. Though the trade embargo is expected to continue for the near future, both American and Cuban leaders are looking at ways to modernize the relationship between nations.
